Martha and Jesus

When we find ourselves fixated on the past, like Martha, we must allow Jesus to turn us around.

We have every right to make plans as long as we remember that it is God’s plan, not ours, that has priority.

As we prepare to face a standoff with evil, it’s important for us to believe the Spirit leads us in.

Jesus does not believe that violence can be limited. It must be eliminated. It must be stopped cold.

Our job is not to change others but to illumine them.

Being clean of heart is being single-hearted in our relationship with God.

When Jesus calls us to repent, he is not calling for some minor adjustment.

When we find ourselves lost and without direction we should use our heads.

Our focus on New Year’s Day should not be on our resolutions but on God’s grace.

The good news of Christmas is that we always have more to be thankful for, than to complain about.

We must look beyond the walls that lock us in to find the goodness around us.

We all want to come to Jesus. But Jesus does not want a part of us. Jesus wants all of us.
