Owning the Pearl

The parable of the pearl tells us that fundamental change is possible if the pearl means enough to us.

Structures in life are important. That is why it is so difficult when they have to change.

True patriotism is founded on humble pride.

God is always taking joy in all that is. We should do the same.

God is sending us an Advocate, a Paraclete, who will stand with us as we face this pandemic.

Jesus is our shepherd who intends to lead us out, even as we shelter in place.

It is crucial that the things we have lost are not the only things that we see.

This Easter reminds us how essential it is to have physical contact with others.
